Very frequently music and mathematics meet on the same level and in this instance the idea of a maths equation has given very serial and thematic pieces a virtual home. This EP of four pieces hides its grid like beginnings well thanks to the fluent and artistic interpretations by the soloists. In combining electronic and acoustic textures and nuances we arrive at a strange reality of sound that asks more questions than it answers but yet leaves the listener lots of options for subsequent outings.

As a follow on from the album “Remote View”, Downing & O’Neill have progressed us into a world of greater tonal variety and sonic dissonance. The dynamic range is wider and the sense of sound perspective is deeper. It is often harder to tell where the acoustic world ends and the electronic world begins. We hope you enjoy the journey.
